We'd like to thank the Drosophila Board (a.k.a. "Fly Board") for awarding the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center with the 2024 Community Service Award. We are incredibly grateful and humbled that the efforts of our 83 stockkeeping staff, seven managers and scientists, and six principal investigators have been recognized as providing "outstanding contributions to the Drosophila community". We are especially grateful to receive this award as it was created in gratitude of fly community members such as our very own Kathy Matthews.
We would also like to thank the NIH Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) in collaboration with the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), and National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) for cooperatively funding grant P40OD018537.
