Amino acid sequence changes can lead to different versions of an enzyme migrating different distances in an electrophoretic gel. The list below gives stocks containing alleles associated with characterized differences in enzyme mobility. Most of these enzymes can be detected in gels using colorimetric substrates. The list also gives alleles of the genes that result in the absence of enzyme.
We have listed only representative subsets of stocks for common Adh alleles.
