In(1)w[m4] stocks

This table shows all stocks in the Bloomington collection carrying the In(1)w[m4] rearrangement associated with variegation of the white gene.

In(1)w[m4h] is a version of In(1)w[m4] that was selected for high levels of variegation. Despite having a different aberration symbol, it does not differ from In(1)w[m4] in any known chromosomal breakpoints. In many stocks, we do not know the source of the inversion, so we cannot say for certain which version is present. In other words, you should not take the distinction too seriously.
