These stocks carry UAS constructs for knocking down microRNA expression. They express mRNA for mCherry with twenty concatenated copies of a sequence complementary to a microRNA (separated by four-nucleotide linkers) inserted in the 3’ UTR. The antisense sequences sequester microRNAs. Because some microRNA genes have similar sequences, a few constructs target more than one microRNA. For example, P{UAS-mCherry.miR-2a.sponge.V2} knocks down expression of both mir-2a-1 and mir-2a-2.
